GPI in the News

From the Waxahachie Daily Light:

The life of Gregg Pearson will live on - not only in the hearts and memories of his friends and loved ones, but through fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society.

Pearson was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1992 and, according to an article written by his mother in the foundation's publication, the tumor was located in an area that controlled his motor skills, speech and mobility. After fighting a valiant, decade-long battle with cancer, undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, testing and surgery, Pearson passed away April 20, 2003, just two months after his 36th birthday. His grandmother, Bernice Pearson, and his aunt, Dolores Pearson of Waxahachie, along with his parents Jim and Linda, sister Leslie Carruthers and younger brother Stacey, are keeping his memory alive through his foundation, the Gregg Pearson Foundation Inc., which has the motto, "Honoring Gregg by helping others."
