I miss Gregg, everyday I miss Gregg. I think about him constantly because I feel we had more memories to share. However, I know that God promises that He will take care of me and he will provide His Peace.
It is beautiful what is shared in the word many places:
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Philippians 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the PEACE of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
On this special day, Gregg’s heavenly birthday, I think more about Gregg than most days. I think about his gentle spirit, his amazing leadership qualities that were soft spoken but consistent, his complete trust in his God, his endurance during trial after trial, his unwavering commitment to share Christ no matter the situation, and the inspiration that has launched many good works in his honor and to the Glory of God.
I am amazed continually how the Lord uses simple and trusting souls to carry his message to the generations. What a crazy plan but what a great plan. Gregg was not particularly impressive by the worlds standards at any one thing, but Gregg was amazing to his God. Gregg had a strength that would withstand 11 years of a battle that he did not want to fight. He had an unwavering commitment to a God that revealed himself to Gregg many times throughout his short life and Gregg was willing to live for Christ till his last breath.
I never saw Gregg complain about his trials. I did see Gregg express sadness and pain, but never compromise his faith. I will always have this as a legacy to share with others and to remind myself of what is important. Knowing Christ and making him Known. This is what is important in God’s eyes and Gregg was great at it!
